$ How to pick colors from an image

  1. Drop your image into the box above, choose a file, or paste one straight from your clipboard. Everything happens locally in your browser — the image is never uploaded anywhere.
  2. Move your cursor over the image. The magnifier shows a pixel-level zoom and the live hex code so you can land on the exact spot you want.
  3. Click to pick. The color appears on the right as Hex, RGB, HSL and CMYK. Click any value to copy it instantly.
  4. Keep clicking to build a palette. Saved colors collect below — copy them all at once, or grab a single hex with one click.

Why pull colors straight from an image?

When you're designing an app's store listing, a feature graphic, or an icon, your screenshots already carry a color story. Sampling the real pixels — your brand blue, the accent in your UI, the exact background tone — keeps everything consistent instead of eyeballing it. Match your screenshot captions, backgrounds and frames to colors that are genuinely in your product.

Hex, RGB, HSL or CMYK — which do I use?

Hex and RGB are for screens: app UIs, store assets, websites. HSL is the friendliest for tweaking — nudge the lightness or saturation without guessing. CMYK matters only if something is going to print, like a physical promo card. This tool gives you all four for every pixel so you never have to convert by hand.

$ FAQ

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The picker reads pixels directly in your browser using a canvas. Your image never leaves your device, which also makes it fast and private.

What image formats work?

Anything your browser can render — PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP and most others. You can also paste an image from your clipboard with ⌘/Ctrl+V.

Can I pick more than one color?

Yes. Every click adds the color to your saved palette below. You can copy the whole list of hex codes at once, which is handy for dropping a palette into your design file.

How accurate is the picked color?

It reads the exact pixel under your cursor, so it's pixel-perfect. The magnifier helps you land on the precise spot, especially on busy or detailed images.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Tap the image to pick a color instead of hovering. The picked value and palette behave the same way.
