De Berichtenbox app is alleen te gebruiken in combinatie met de DigiD app. De DigiD app moet op het zelfde apparaat staan en u gebruikt de pincode van de DigD app om de Berichtenbox app te openen. Met de app heeft u toegang tot de inbox, archief en prullenbak van uw Berichtenbox op MijnOverheid. U kunt berichten lezen en verplaatsen naar het archief of prullenbak. Als een bericht een bijlage heeft kunt u deze doorsturen, opslaan of openen in een andere app. In de app ziet u welke nieuwe organisaties van de Berichtenbox gebruik zijn gaan maken en u kunt aangeven of deze organisaties post digitaal naar u mogen versturen. Momenteel is het nog niet mogelijk om uw voorkeuren aan te passen voor organisaties die al aangesloten zijn. U kunt hiervoor inloggen op de website van mijn.overheid.nl.
