Bei der Rettung von Menschen zählt oft jede Minute. In vielen Notsituationen oder Krisenlagen können Freiwillige mit ihren unterschiedlichen Kenntnissen und Fähigkeiten mithelfen. Das KATRETTER-System unterstützt die Rettungsdienste dabei, die passenden Freiwilligen in Sekundenschnelle zu informieren – mobil, rechtssicher und ortsgenau. In Notfällen wie dem Herz-Kreislauf-Stillstand, aber auch in weiteren Krisensituationen alarmiert die Leitstelle per Smartphone-App Freiwillige in der Nähe des Einsatzes. Entsprechend der registrierten Qualifikation beginnen die freiwilligen „Ersthelfer“ mit Rettungsmaßnahmen, schon bevor die professionellen Rettungskräfte eintreffen. Oder sie unterstützen als engagierte „Mithelfer“ den Einsatz durch einfache Tätigkeiten.
