El BID és l’instrument oficial de gestió per a tots els agents implicats en el desenvolupament de la formació pràctica en centres de treball dels alumnes de formació professional. El BID comunica de forma activa, ràpida i segura les 13 cambres catalanes, el Consell de Cambres, els centres de formació professional i els serveis centrals i les delegacions territorials del Departament d’Ensenyament. El BID, com a eina de gestió, actua com una intranet. Té, per tant, un accés restringit als diferents agents.
