WayBack remembers where you set off, in the mountains or by the lakes, and shows you the way back to that spot. Once the trip is prepared, it works with no signal. WayBack is a subscription app. It opens with a 3-day free trial, then USD 1.99 per week or USD 19.99 per year - your choice. You sign in, start the trial in the App Store, and the whole app is yours - there is no cut-down free mode and nothing is held back for a higher tier. Before you step off the road, tap "I'm heading outdoors". The app drops an anchor at your GPS position and starts recording your walk. From then on the screen shows the two things that matter: the direction to your entry point and how far away it is. Both are calculated on the phone, so they keep working with no mobile data and no coverage.
