Potjie helps you cook what you've got, know what to buy and know what it'll cost. Tick the recipes you want this week. Potjie checks your fridge, works out what's missing and turns it into a shopping list: rounded up to real pack sizes, grouped by shop, with an estimated rand price range. Tick an item as you buy it and it moves into your fridge. When you cook, you get one step per screen: what you need, with its amounts, then a sentence or two on what to do. Start a step's timer and the countdown sits on your Lock Screen, and in the Dynamic Island on phones that have one, so you can put the phone down. Finish the recipe and Potjie takes the ingredients out of your fridge and puts the meals in, with how long each one keeps. On the morning a leftover reaches its keep-by date, you get a note to have it or freeze it. What's inside • 182 recipes with photos, filtered by the appliances you…
Every shipping app on the App Store has gone through the same decisions you're working through right now: which screenshot goes first, what caption sits over it, which device frame to show, what color the background should be. The 8 screenshots above are Potjie's answers to those questions — they're public, they're real, and they made it through Apple's review.
What the numbers say: Potjie runs a mixed light-and-dark set where the background shifts from screenshot to screenshot (first shot #BC1C04) — each image has to stand on its own, so the captions carry more of the story. The accent colour we picked up, #4C140C, is the one to reuse for badges, arrows and highlighted words if you borrow this look. Notice the first screenshot in particular. It's the one users see in search results and on the product page, and it's where most apps spend their best caption and tightest design. Look at the proportion of background to phone, where the text sits, what one thing the image is trying to communicate.
