About this app
RevLab runs the engine for real. It computes the crank, pistons, valves, combustion and exhaust gas flow in real time, and that one simulation drives the sound, the haptics, the gauges and the 3D engine. Nothing is animated just for the screen. ■ NEW: JET AND RADIAL ENGINES An airliner high-bypass turbofan, an afterburning fighter turbofan and a nine-cylinder radial that turns a propeller. Spool-up and light-off, fan tones and buzz-saw, jet roar, the afterburner lighting up, the radial's short stacks and propeller: all from the same physics. The volumetric plume forms shock diamonds from the nozzle pressure ratio, and the afterburner flame lights the dark studio. Work a 3D thrust quadrant, a fighter throttle with an afterburner gate or the radial's throttle, prop and mixture levers, and read airliner glass displays, fighter analog gauges or a glass MFD, or vintage dials. ■ DRAG STRIP…
