Mdown opens a Markdown file and renders it. That is the whole product — no account, no subscription, no network. WORKS OFFLINE, AND CANNOT DO OTHERWISE Mdown ships without the network permission. This is not a promise about data collection: the app has no way to reach the internet at all. Every syntax grammar, every font and both diagram engines live inside the binary, so a README opens exactly as fast on a plane as it does at your desk. WHAT IT RENDERS • GitHub Flavoured Markdown — tables, footnotes, task lists, blockquotes, HTML blocks • Syntax highlighting for 192 languages, all bundled, none downloaded • Mermaid diagrams: flowcharts, sequence, state, class • LaTeX through KaTeX, both display and inline equations • YAML and TOML front matter, folded into a card instead of leaking into the text • Documents of 10,000 lines open in well under a second EVERYTHING IS FREE Nine theme…
Every shipping app on the App Store has gone through the same decisions you're working through right now: which screenshot goes first, what caption sits over it, which device frame to show, what color the background should be. The 12 screenshots above are Mdown: Markdown Previewer's answers to those questions — they're public, they're real, and they made it through Apple's review.
Notice the first screenshot in particular. It's the one users see in search results and on the product page, and it's where most apps spend their best caption and tightest design. Look at the proportion of background to phone, where the text sits, what one thing the image is trying to communicate.
