About this app
This is a simulator of the saron barung, peking, demung and slenthem Javanese gamelan balungan instruments. It is tuned in the slendro and pelog laras tuning system of several gamelans which can also be custom tuned and has Western diatonic C major and G major scales. It uses sound samples from the Snail's Progress Gamelan which was made by the great Javanese gong smith Pak Tentrem Sarwanto from Java. The notes are L6, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and H1. or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Tap the middle part of the keys to play and damp the note by tapping the lower part of the keys or choose automatic dampening from the options screen if you're lazy!
