The app is completely stand-alone and does not need internet access or location information to work. Unlike weather stations and handheld anemometers, WindWatcher is not affected by nearby obstacles such as trees or other buildings. The app also updates average wind speed and wind gusts automatically in the background., and comes complete with a powerful Watch app including Watch face complications.
